Hello everyone. Since it's not listed on the calender yet, I thought I'd list the games that we have planned for the upcoming weeks. I have the games listed first so that people can instantly see what games are coming up without scrolling through the entire thread.

Each week, there will be two games with either a similar theme, or from the same company. The first game will be shorter/easier, while the second will be longer/harder.

If you have any suggestions, comments, or there's a game that you've been dying to try, post it here. Try to limit game requests to games still in print whenever possible. And feel free to stop in and bring your own! I don't mind changing things on the fly, but I'll still have the listed games with me either way.

For the week of July 11th, I figured that we should start with something a little different. Usually in games, one player achieves victory. In both of these games, it's either everyone wins or everyone loses.

Pandemic: "You are specialists at the CDC/Atlanta where you watch several virulent diseases break out simultaneously all over the world. The team mission is to prevent a world-wide pandemic outbreak, treating hotspots while researching cures for each of the four plagues before they get out of hand." - BGG.com

Shadows: "As the incarnation of the Knights of the Round Table, you join forces against the game itself in an attempt to protect Camelot. Your victory hinges on the successful completion of legendary Quests, such as the search for Excalibur, the Holy Grail, or Lancelot's Armor; the tournament against the Black Knight; and numerous wars against the Saxons and Picts. But beware... all is not as it seems among these noble Knights. One of your number might yet turn out to be a traitor-in-waiting, biding his time while sowing havoc and destruction from the Shadows!" - DaysofWonder.com

In case you were curious, Pandemic is ranked 22nd and Shadows is ranked 143 on BoardGameGeek. I mention this as some Sundays may have two games that have a similar ranking and no other common factor.

Due to Heather's constant begging, I decided to do Killer Bunnies and Kinder Bunnies this week.

Killer Bunnies: "The object: Collect as many "Carrots" as possible, hoping that one of them is the randomly predetermined "Magic Carrot". In doing so, you must keep your bunnies alive as long as possible, while eliminating your opponents' Bunnies because once all the Carrots have been claimed you must have a living Bunny to win.
The problem: Your opponents are armed with outrageous weapons (from level 1 weapons such as a "Kitchen Whisk" to level 12 weapons such as the "Nuclear Warhead") and you must roll higher than these levels to survive.
Use cards to defend your Bunnies, such as the hilarious "Magic Spatula" or other special cards, or use a "Feed The Bunny" card to force your opponent to buy cabbage and water (if they have the money to do so...)
Your opponents, as the back of the box quotes, "will stop at nothing to keep you from winning the game, which can get dreadfully vengeful, horribly nasty, hilariously messy, and just plain fun!"" - BGG.com

Kinder Bunnies is a lighter, less spiteful version of Killer Bunnies.

Board Game Sundays! Empty Whatever happened to...

Arcane Legions. I was invited to join a group supposedly playing it most sundays. They gave me a number but have repeatedly refused to answer phone calls. Do these people exist or was I temporarily transported to a parallel plane where I am not the only one who has a desire to play this game? Anyone know? I believe their leader was named shaun but am not 100% sure. I may be interested but only if I can get the info. Thanks!
